The Lovely Photo Company ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
We are The Lovely Photo Company, a wedding photography and videography business based in Sunderland, North East England. We are the data controller for the personal data collected through this website. For any privacy question, email hellolovely@lovelyphotocompany.co.uk.
If you book us, the images and footage we take of your day are personal data belonging to you and to the people in them. We use them to deliver the work you have booked, and we store them securely for the period set out in your contract.
We only publish your photographs — on this website, in our portfolio, or on social media — if you have agreed to it in your booking contract. You can change your mind at any time: email us and we will remove them from anywhere we control, as soon as we reasonably can. Please note we cannot always recall images that others have already shared or reposted.
If you are a guest at a wedding we photographed and would like an image of you removed, email us and we will deal with it.
We only send our newsletter to people who have asked for it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also just email us and we will take you off the list. We never sell or rent your email address, and we will not add you to the newsletter simply because you made an enquiry or downloaded our guide.
We never sell your data. We share it only with trusted providers that help us run our business — our website host, our email and email-delivery providers, our cloud storage for delivering galleries, and Google (Analytics and reCAPTCHA). Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place.
We keep enquiry data only as long as needed to respond and, if you book, for the duration of our work together plus a reasonable period to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Photographs are kept as set out in your contract. After that we delete or anonymise it.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, email hellolovely@lovelyphotocompany.co.uk. We do not make any decisions about you by automated means.
